Coke – open happiness

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

Hello – so everyone talks about the new Coke campaign backed by the new slogan Open Happiness, replacing The Coke side of Life. Sounds like an obvious reference to the happiness factory spots that we all know and love. I saw the new tv spot. hmmm I don’t like  – they use the stop motion drawing over video that Justice made popular in their fantastic D.A.N.C.E. music video. You judge for yourself.

The history of marketing in 210 seconds

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

Good to be back! Despite the financial crisis, 2009 is gonna be a swell year, I’m sure Right now, it’s 9:50 p.m. I just had a steaming cup of coffee. I’ve just spend 10 of my current 126 downloads at emusic.com on Bon Iver’s alt-folk record “For Emma, Forever Ago”, and right now I’m listening to my new record while checking up on my blogroll. Have I missed out on anything vital? Probably not.

Have i missed out on anything interesting? Definately. Like this three-and-a-half minute recap of the history of marketing, that I just saw at adverblog. It’s funny and right to the point (and a bit sad towards the end, too). Enjoy!

By the way, sorry for tricking you. If you’ve read my words AND watched the movie, you’ve definately spent more than 210 seconds. Shame on me.

Iran – World’s 3rd biggest blogging country!

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Iran is a country with a young population. 50% are under 30 years, compared to 35 in Denmark. Of those those 35 million people under 30. According to viralblog, most of these youngsters are opposed to their government. Which doesn’t surprise in a country known for its opression of e.g. women rights, free speach and all those people who support them.

In 2005, there where over 700.000 Iranian blogs, with about 100.000 actively maintained. Here, the people can freely discuss politics, human rights and love – if just they stay anonymous.

Have a look at this short film on the subject, made by students at Vancouver Film School:

Three strikes and you’re in!

Monday, December 8th, 2008

Today I’ll show you three different animated music videos. Just because they’re cool as hell. Enjoy.

First, have a loo at alternative-folk heroes Fleet Foxes in this stop-motion video by Grandchildren.

Next, I’ll show you what you can do with an automatic knitting machine. Or an army of grannies. This is Tricot Machine from Montreal.

This one’s fun! A brief history of computers networks by Superbrothers. The music is by Jim Guthrie.

Allthough it’s not quite the thrill, I’m still looking forward to Disney’s “From all of us to all of you”

ho-ho-ho
