Playboy in 3D

Friday, May 14th, 2010

Just read on business.dk that Playboy will launch a 3D version of the magazine for the June issue.

This makes perfect sense. Nothing needs the 3D experience more than porn or whatever you call Playboy. The first 3D model will be Hope Dworaczyk. This is she:

I wonder how they will make the 3D experience come alive – with augmented reality on the mobile phone or with the funny glasses or maybe the old plastic holograms – all solid solutions. I kinda hope they go for the plastic. I just found an old magazine from 2001 with one of those glued in with Helena Christensen – I had to keep that for sentimental purposes:-) Does anyone know how they’ll doit?

iPad revealed by Mr. Jobs

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

So it was the Apple Table or iPad as they chose to call it. I must admit it looks pretty cool. Its supposed to be the holder of apps, videos, photos and books. I predict that it will at least revolutionize the book market 500%. Fuck Kindle and all the other crappy digi-book readers. This is the ticket. Its supposed to be excellent for surfing the net and reading and writing emails also… We’ll see. I have few reservations or doubts when it comes to Apple living up to expectations these days. Good to see Steve back in good health too.

New Media Days coming up

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

Next week I’ll be attending New Media Days and the program looks promising. I’ll be blogging from the conference to let you in on some of the hopefully new and inspirational stuff. Last year Obama’s campaign was one of the great topics using social media as a crucial platform. But one of the presentations that  made the biggest impact on me was Jonathan Harris working on projects in the intersection of art, technolgy and social media.

One of these projects is We Feel Fine (wefeelfine.org)  Harvesting human feelings from a large number of weblogs We Feel Fine gives you updates on human emotion on a global scale. The system searches the world’s newly posted blog entries for occurrences of the phrases “I feel” and “I am feeling”. When it finds such a phrase, it records the full sentence and identifies the “feeling” expressed in that sentence (e.g. sad, happy, depressed, etc.).

Take a look for yourself: wefeelfine.org – there is something truly poetic about it.

Starbucks Challenge…hmmm

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

Starbucks created a challenge where people are challenged to taste the difference bewteen Starbucks Via – which is their new instant coffee brand and a real cup of Starbucks. In the promo they say that people can’t taste the difference. That can’t possibly be good for the brand. Having done quite a bit of work with Instant Coffee I am very aware of the public image of this category, which is sub regular and sub sub sub café/espresso coffee. Sound like a bad idea. Which is rather rare for Starbucks.

San Francisco launches app store based on goventment data

Friday, September 25th, 2009

The Herminator just showed me this article on Mashable. Pretty cool. 350.000 apps on Facebook. 60.000 for the iPhone, and now my favourite city… San Francisco. Excellent. And very interesting the kind of apps users can create with this kind of data. There must be some privacy issues, but it will be cool to follow.

Here is the mashable article

And here is a link to the SF app store

The Wave

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

Have you ever tried to arrange a dinner for 5 friends or set up a movie date with the same people?

It might take 10 – 15 e-mails just to set a date, then another 10 to figure out the choice of movie or if you should bring red or white wine. Well, in the future it might only take one e-mail document to settle a date like that.

Google is about to launch a new open source program called Google Wave. It’s basically a platform that allows people to work in the same doc real time via e-mail. It should be released this month and I’m looking forward trying it out next time I’m trying to get together with a handful of friends.

Here it is explained in a very simple NON tech way – it looks like Common Craft’s style but it’s not:

BooneOakley – innovative Youtube website

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

Howdy yall

We all know about this functionality – adding buttons and links in Youtube films. But I still think that this is a pretty clever way of creating your website – pure Youtube.

Of course others have also done cool and different websites – Crispin Porter with their Social media integration – CPB . And the Danish Agency WDP, who have done their full Google integration.

Good job.
