Apple dropped iPhone 4… and it keeps dropping

Saturday, June 26th, 2010

Finally it’s here. It looks so cool, but there seems to be a flaw with the antenna in the new iPhone. It drops calls when you touch the bottom left corner. How could they possibly have missed this at Apple? I have a feeling that Steve is pissed.

Cool X10 site by Arthur Schlovsky

Thursday, June 10th, 2010

Our brothers in France, Arthur Schlovsky created a pretty cool microsite for Sony Ericssons Xperia X10 – check it out. http://www.sonyericsson.com/frxperiax10/

I like the way the bits inteact with the analog – totally digital vinyl:-) Not as cool as the Copenhagen X Sessions though. But hey what is??? We just launched the Oh No Ono session today… its a doosie.

If you like Arthur Schlovsky’s solution, lend them your vote at FWA, after you vote for the X Sessions:-) – http://thefwa.com/shortlist/xperia-x10-live-design-xperience

Google Goggles

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

Google ups the stakes, combining their core business of search, with augmented reality, scanning/photo usability and much more to come, it would seem. It looks very cool. It’s like the Layars app meets Google.  It is launched as an app for Android phones. Check it out.

Fake iPhone already on the market in China

Monday, June 7th, 2010

I guess that’s why Steve got a little pissed about the drunk apple dude losing the phone and Gizmodo was raided and all that. It’s called the GPS-Phone folks.

Check the story here. Thanks to Andreas for the scoop.

Playboy in 3D

Friday, May 14th, 2010

Just read on business.dk that Playboy will launch a 3D version of the magazine for the June issue.

This makes perfect sense. Nothing needs the 3D experience more than porn or whatever you call Playboy. The first 3D model will be Hope Dworaczyk. This is she:

I wonder how they will make the 3D experience come alive – with augmented reality on the mobile phone or with the funny glasses or maybe the old plastic holograms – all solid solutions. I kinda hope they go for the plastic. I just found an old magazine from 2001 with one of those glued in with Helena Christensen – I had to keep that for sentimental purposes:-) Does anyone know how they’ll doit?

Copenhagen X Sessions – by Sony Ericsson

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

MEC in Copenhagen has developed a concept for Sony Ericsson we call The Copenhagen X Sessions. X because it is for Sony Ericsson’s Xperia platform, the X10 model for starters, and Sessions because we gathered the cream of the Danish upcoming music scene and recorded a string of music and video sessions with them. The concept is ultra high quality in artist, performance, music and video – totally free for download. A new type of concept where the company – in this case Sony Ericsson acts like a record company except… we made it free. It benefits the musicians – who are paid and a platform and free recording/video and the brand Sony Ericsson – because they are associated with music and provides content to their target audience and phones, which should generate sales, buzz and loyalty. Everybody wins. Quite simply. The first sessions to be released are from the excellent danish bands – I Got you on Tape, Giana Factory and Sleep Party People.

The sessions are recorded and produced at Black Tornado Studios in Copenhagen, by Mikkel Max and Ebbe Frey – both previously in Epo555 and all video art was done by Michael Voight from Good Boy Creative. Here is a behind the scenes clip from yesterday, when one of the last sessions were recorded with the band Cody – indie, folky, post rocky country – excellent stuff. I apologize for the non HD quality, but it was recorded with the X10:-)

Ads that watch you – smoke and mirrors and Near Field Communication

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Just saw this CNN special. Very interesting. Cameras recognize you gender and age and “relevant” ads are shown to you. Very Big Brother and Minority Report.

Thanks to Kristoffer Baek (my brother) for drawing this to my attention.

Another very interesting thing is Near Field Communication. This is where a terminal recognizes you mobile phone “signature”. So it potentially knows exactly who you are. This means it could call you your name, you can use it for payments, it can stream your Youtube favorites, show you ads directly aimed to you… situational, scary, invasive and extremely potent.

QR codes – it actually works now. Thank you Sony Ericsson

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

For the first time ever I got QR codes (Quick Response codes) working. How did this happen. Well Sony Ericsson has done a very cool integration in the Soundvenue magazine for their X10 phone. They present additional videos and content from the featured articles directly on your mobile phone – you get this by scanning the qr code. And it actually works. I tried it so many times to no avail. BUT NOW IT WORKS. Could 2010 be the year this breaks. Hurray. I used the I-nigma app from the Android store.

Get this cool feature from SXSW eg.
