Sony Ericsson models, toddlers, surfers and guidos

Saturday, September 18th, 2010

This is just funny. Sony Ericsson should definately do more like this and less with bouncing balls and stuff. It works as a viral in the this can’t be for real sense – which all of it definately can’t. And they manage to feature some of the salient product features like the web, video social media functions and the infinity button. Good job I like the Guido film the best. Gotta start chewing more gum.

Booty Reader

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

This is hillarious and actually rather smart. It a small digital utility from Old Navy. It reads your ass and recommends what type of jeans you should go for – down to the label of Old Navy of course. Very cool. My booty sign is Posteriourious, which means jeans with stretch for that ass. Thanks to Martin from Plant for the heads up. Try it out.

Lego Inception

Friday, August 20th, 2010

I just love people using Lego to tell a story – all time favorite of course is Fell in a Love with a Girl – the White Stripes’ video. But here is a dude who recreated scenes from this summers block buster – Inception. Nicely done.

Read more on Wired.com og check out the full photostream of Alex Eylar, who did the recreation, on flickr. He calls himself Profound Whatever. Yeah.

Product Placement: AA-12 automatic shotgun

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

Just read an article on Brandchannel.com about roduct placement. Apparently the motorcycle Ducati has been very aggressive in this summers blockbusters. Very surprisingly to me the automatic shotgun AA-12 has also been “aggressive” with leading roles in both the expendables and Predators. I guess money talks, but what the fuck Hollywood. This is not right.

Hotel Grand Daddy – Penthouse trailer park

Monday, August 16th, 2010

Hey all – this actually has nothing to do with comms planning, but something with branding I guess. I’m staying in the “penthouse” at this hotel in Cape Town, which is called Hotel Grand Daddy. It’s fabulous. They have actually put real old school trailers up there in stead of rooms. I highly Recommend.

Fantastic branding and story telling for the hotel and real interesting idea. I hear that they have gotten an extraordinary amount of press coverage because of this (and other) stunt(s). A lot different than the plush luxury of Boutique Manolo, where I stayed last time I was in Cape Town, but definitely just as many stories to tell. My trailer is called “Goldielocks and the three bears”.
