The history of Oakley

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

Hey I know this is a bit geeky. But if you ever BMX’ed, skated, snowboarded or anything like that you will know and might love Oakley. Pretty cool brand history. From the heart.

Create your own look at H&M

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

I love this new feature from H&M, enabling users to create their own look by adding clothes and assesories on a virtual dress-up paper doll. H&M has done it before when they alowed us to add our own bodyshape, eyecolour, haircut etc. however this feature, even slightly less complicated, just looks better. I don’t know about the guys, but for a girl, dressing up paper dolls never really gets borring no matter how old you get. /Katrine

Impress the missus in the kitchen using your mobile (no not like that…)

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

Danish top chef Bo Bech has created a cooking school for mobile phones. The great thing about this application is, that instead of written recipes which tells you what to do (seen a 100 times before)  -  it shows you how. Bo has created 140 short videos, which show us how to either part a chicken, cook a lobster or fry your own French fries. The point made by this Danish super chef is that cooking is simple and that anybody can be successful in the kitchen – if you’ve got your mobile on you.

I’m mentioning this mobile service because it’s a great example of branded mobile utility, as it gives the user true value by just being smarter. Playing a video straight from your mobilephone, which is always in your pocket, and being able to press pause between adding the flour and stirring is just clever.

You can test the service by texting BOBECH to 1969 and get the link for the site.

WHOANY – a Spoof

Monday, August 24th, 2009

Just want to share this spoof: Whoany – a fashion blog making fun of the popular Danish blog Anywho. Whereas Anywho has around 80.000 visitors per month, I’m not sure how many visits whoany’s got but it is increasingly popular.

So far it is only in Danish but the pictures are still great fun.

Fashion Blogging – I’m an addict!

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

Why has fashion blogging become so big…?

… I’m not exactly sure but I find myself becoming addicted to blogs like the Danish and the American Both are personal moodboards with real girls behind the style postings.

Blogging just seem to fit the style diary format. When visiting blogs frequently the readers end up knowing the blogger’s style and personality so the addiction is build on a notion of a continuous relation with the bloggers. A notion which fashion magazines don’t create the same way – or a least only once a month – whereas you can visit the bloggers everyday and experience new content in an authentic setting.

Some magazines like Cover has integrated their online site with 6 blogs. Among others the girls behind anywho. The corporation has worked out pretty well: Anywho is getting a window to their blog and Cover has experienced a very large increase in visitors on their site since they launched the blogs.

I’m still curious though as to why fashion blogging appeals to so many so please let me know what you think and if you’ve got any good blogs worth visiting?

A virtual Gourmet Getaway

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Due to decreasing travel budgets consumers are less likely to be travelling and enjoying the luxury goods of eating out. G. H. Mumm has taken this into consideration when launching an amazing site featuring a cookbook from culinary cities such as St. Petersburg, NYC, Tokyo and Paris. Download the recipes and enjoy with the suggested champagne menu. The site offers entertainment tips as well.

And if you can’t afford to actually travel to any of these places you could lean back in the virtual flight seat and enjoy the getaway to one of your favourite cities.
